Quick expense entry: type “Coffee 180” and it is saved

Quick entry in Monnex records an expense or income from one line of text, such as “Coffee 180”. The amount and the description can go in any order, and a leading plus marks income. Monnex picks the category from your history and saves the operation, which you can undo straight away.

How it works

How one-line entry works

The quick entry line sits on Home. You type what you would say out loud — what it was and how much — and press save. Monnex reads the amount, takes the rest as the description and chooses the category you used for similar entries before.

  • A minus or no sign means an expense; a plus at the start means income.
  • Transfers between your own accounts and currency exchange are recorded as their own types, so a transfer never counts as spending.
  • Saving the same entry twice by accident never creates a second operation.

Step by step

How to record an expense in one line

  1. Open Home

In the Telegram Mini App or at app.monnex.app — the quick entry line is at the top.

  2. Type the line

“Coffee 180” or “180 coffee”; add a plus for income: “+5000 salary”.

  3. Check and undo if needed

The saved operation shows its category and account; one tap undoes it.

Facts

Quick entry in brief

  • Quick entry: type “Coffee 180” in one line — amount and description in any order; a leading minus or plus means expense or income.
  • Operation types: expense, income, transfer between your own accounts and currency exchange. A transfer never counts as spending.
  • Telegram bot: one message such as “coffee 180” or “+5000 salary” is one operation in the account you last used, with a category from your history, the new balance and an Undo button. Replying to the bot’s card edits that operation; /today shows today’s spending and income. A redelivered message does not create a duplicate.

Questions

Questions about quick entry

What can I type in quick entry?

An amount and a few words about it, in any order: “Coffee 180”, “180 groceries”, “taxi 250”. A leading plus records income; a minus or no sign records an expense.

How does Monnex choose the category?

From your history: the category you used for similar descriptions before. You can change it by opening the saved operation.

Can I undo a quick entry?

Yes. Every quick entry can be undone in one tap right after it is saved, and you can edit or delete the operation later in Activity.

Quick entry or the Telegram bot — which should I use?

Both create the same operations. Quick entry is handy when the app is already open; a message to the bot is handy when you are in Telegram anyway.

Is quick entry free?

Yes. Recording operations has no count limits on Free.
